Can anyone tell me something about these unique abstract paintings?
These are original unsigned oil paintings on what I believe are on canvas boards. I know that this is a long shot, but the style of the paintings is unique and there may be a chance that someone may know something about them.
Here are some pictures:
Thank You Very Much!
At first glance, I thought it was a tapestry.
These are not abstract paintings.
They are paint by numbers. There is really no color blending involved. All of the colors are solid and distinctively separated. Very odd for an original painting. That is why I think its a vintage paint by numbers painting.
See the links below. They explain more about the popularity of paint by numbers fad in the 1950's. Apparently, these kitchy paintings are being valued higher now than in the past. Its a new trend that 20 to 30 year olds are into. The paintings style is nostalgic. So they are willing to pay up to $100 for these paintings from second hand stores. In the past, they could be purchased for a couple of bucks Also, the painting in the link below resembles your paintings style as well. Whoever, painted your paintings did a pretty good job painting within the lines.
