Well, since it is a work representative of the Romantic Era/Romanticism (not the Gothic, as is commonly assumed, although it has minor Gothic influences such as spooky settings) try searching for Romantic artists such as JMW Turner (he covers such themes as the power of nature and internal conflict). Keep in mind that you can't just look at them and decide whether or not they reflect the themes but that you need to research the meanings behind the paintings themselves because sometimes they are a bit abstract.
